After the first Rikti Invasion anti-robot sentiment rose to a critical high, damaging the reputation of higher class andriods. To combat the growing negative prejudice (and falling profits), Exarch Industries created a new line of androids, designated the Tekk Line of Defense.

Khamsin Tekk is the latest in the expanded line of Tekk units. Taking a daring approach to support and protection, Khamsin focuses on being at the front, taking the heat directly rather than shoring up the defenses of its wards.
