While working on a science experiment at Paragon City University, a college student named Kyle Ross was accidentally infected with small atomic sized robots called nanites.  The nanites were part of an experiment to enhance the human nervous system. Working for several days, a suit was constructed with circuitry to control the nanites. The suit amplified the nanites' tactile telekinesis abilities and turned Kyle's body into a human-datastream. Which he adopted as his new identity..."Datastream" He noticed that because of the nanites, he had some superhuman abilities... The nanites' artificial tactile telekinesis has many effects on Datastream. One of these was the ability to form an energy pulse and direct it.
