Character Bio

Salem, MA - 1921. She was a simple schoolteacher then, and one of the strongest believers in "Knowledge is power" you'd ever meet. Such a phiolosophy was, however, a weakness rather than a strength in that Lovecraftian age, and her thirst for enlightenment led her down the path of madness, hoarding ancient tomes and gleaning all she could from their fell secrets. Thus, Miss Catherine Reilly forgot the life she once had and remade herself, only half alive, only half human, fueled by the dark arts, as Eldrix the Blackbird.

In her new, semi-human state, Eldrix continued to extend her life unnaturally by the Necronomicon's forbidden lore, so as to be able to continue eternally her quest for omniscience. Normally, she encounters resistance in her efforts to acquire more and more learning, as her arrival is always announced by the clouds of black corvids from which she takes her name and mannerisms. She has few alliances, and those she forges are rarely held for long.
