Mindstryker was originally a PPD Psi-Lieutenant, but was dismissed from the force and jailed after being framed for a crime committed by his corrupt superior. He spent three years in the Zig trying to survive and clear his name, and with the help of Blue Steel, he finally brought the crooked cop to justice. His courage, determination, and impressive psychic power attracted the notice of Vanguard, who approached Mindstryker, offering him a place in their ranks. He accepted, provided that he'd also be allowed to act independently as a hero when not actively deployed by Vanguard.
