Character Bio

Bud August was an elite test-pilot for the Air Force during the infancy of the U.S. space program during the late 1950?s. After successfully completing a routine high-altitude flight test, Bud was caught in a freak, high-intensity supercell storm. Bud barely managed to eject from the jet before it was torn apart by the turbulent winds. Protected only by his revolutionary flight-suit, Bud fell towards the earth, bathed in over 1 gigavolt of electrical energy and energized gamma rays. His body fused to special suit and began to absorb the power of the storm. Placed into a state of semi-permanent stasis, Bud?s energized form orbited the earth for the next 50 years. Sometime in early 2003, the superhero Lightslinger blazed past Bud?s drifting body on some random heroic mission. The energy given off by the Lord of Light, resparked the thought patterns in Bud?s mutated brain. Floating down to earth on his own power, Bud discovered he could control the electrical energy coursing through his body.
