"Live for the moment" - that's what she believed. Working in the covert world, she had to - discovery would have meant death.
Investigating a supposed Malta/Council connection... she was discovered. Seeing that the information she probably posessed would be useful, an ancient, high level Nictus was chosen to try to turn her.
While it could fight her will - it gave in on its own. Secretly, it, too, had been aiding the Warshades and Peacebringers in their fight against the Nictus. Finding a kindred spirit, they merged, creating Violet Flame - and rekindling an old friendship with Illume Starshot, known to Vi as "Ashlyn," years ago....
