Character Bio

Teyla kei Miharji grew up in a small village called Mdezui, in Tanzenia. Her father worked for the British military, translating negotiations between Tanzania and Uganda before war was declaired between the two. That is where he met Teyla's mother, who worked as a nurse in one of the hospitals. Soon after they married they decided to move to America where they both had family, and could raise a family in peace.

Teyla had a rough childhood, as combined with her odd accent picked up from
her mother and father, she didn't exactly fit in a suburban midwestern environment with her exotic look.

Her mother had always known extrodinary healing abilities only a few of her village were born with. They did not know until later in Teyla's life that she too possessed unique powers which could forever alter everyone's perception about her. After all, it's not natural for people to see ghosts around someone.
