Character Bio

Living in the Rogue Isles isn't easy, but Elizabeth Byrne's family made it work, until Liza's 15th birthday, when an assassin crashed her birthday celebration. Liza's parents were killed, but Liza was able to disarm the assassin, steal their sword, and get away.
Liza turned to Longbow for protection, and they quickly smuggled her out of the Isles and into the US. They helped her settle with a foster family, while arranging for her to learn to wield her stolen sword. Although she feels a deep gratitude to Longbow for saving her life, she declined to join them, feeling she could do more good as an independent hero.
Liza never found out who the assassin sent to kill her family was, nor who sent them, nor why, nor what happened to them afterward... and she no longer cares. Whoever they were, whatever their reasons, it has no bearing on the person she is now. She's sworn to dedicate her career to memorializing her murdered parents, not avenging them.
