Character Bio

Everhate was once a prestigious Roman prefect named Maxentius, a high ranking member of the Cohortes Praetoriae. The regular military bodyguard of the Emperor, their mission was to act as the guarantors of his security. In 306 AD, the Praetorian Guard threw their weight behind Maxentius, acclaiming him Emperor despite the marginally more legitimate claim of the previous Emperor's son, Constantine. A civil war followed that was finally decided in 312 AD at the Milvian Bridge outside the city of Rome, where Maxentius was thought to have drowned while fleeing after his Praetorian troops broke in battle.

Everhate was cast out of the Praetorians forever after such an embarrassing defeat and was forced to live as a pauper until eventually forgotten. His hatred for Constantine and his christian empire has sustained him throughout the ages. It has, even further, made him nearly immortal and no longer subject to the ravages of time. Everhate goes out of his way to destroy those who use the Praetorian name.
