Character Bio
Natalie Sloan's mutant powers were the source of a troubled family life. Her ability to emit entropic energy which caused corrosion, decay and other destructive effects on the objects she touched was the source of many a family argument. But the greatest divide between her and her parents came when their house caught on fire.
The room that 12-year-old Natalie shared with her toddler brother was engulfed in flames, and both children succumbed to the smoke and passed out. The Sloans watched in horror as firefighters pulled their unconscious, badly burned children from the flaming house.
Natalie's brother stayed in the intensive care unit for a week, but Natalie recovered completely in less than a day. Her mother resented the fact that Natalie emerged unscathed, while her brother would bear the burn scars for the rest of his life.
When Natalie's mutations turned her skin jet black, her parents reacted not with sympathy, but with revulsion. Natalie, now 15, left her broken home to fight crime.
