Character Bio

Otto Trough-Fick was born a seemingly normal boy, and it was not until he reached his teenage years that his strange abilities began to manifest - at first just a love of gardening and a healthy fondness for the outdoors, but before long it became clear that Otto was not like other boys. His skin's color and texture changed, becoming more barkike, and he gradually stopped eating altogether as he began to get his nutrition by photosynthesis through his odd-looking skin. His hair fell out, replaced by thick leaves, and he began to have trouble breathing as his body switched from consuming oxygen to consuming carbon dioxide.

Otto wandered the world for a time, trying to work out if he could even fit into humanity any longer, but it was ultimately the threat of the Devouring Earth that drove him back to Paragon City, this time as the hero Throntree, a new member of GIFT dedicated to the defeat of the Devouring Earth.
