I'm not the woman you think I am. That woman is dead. She died years ago during the Rikti invasion.

Mal's first clear memories are her escape from a Crey Industries lab. She resents that, the gaps in her memory, the uncertainty of her own origins.

Yet it is clear that she does remember, more than she admits, this woman who prefers to go by the moniker emblazoned on a stylized platinum dogtag choker around her neck, and prefers as solitary existence as she can manage despite Paragon City's ever overseeing eye.

She resents that too.
