Character Bio

Arcadia Urizar was a good little girl. She believed her parents when they taught her about El Cucuy, the monster who eats children who misbehave. She believed in the Pontarf, who drags children under if they get too close to water. She believed in the Ramidreju and the Bagman. But the terrified girl did not listen closely enough when her parents warned her of the Lammikin, who drains the blood of the mothers of those who cry in the night. Once her parents were dead, Arcadia was taken away by the ghost of La Llorona, who was trying to find the crying children she had drowned in life. The child's new home was a nightmare world of ghosts and monsters, most of whom wished to devour her for her misbehavior. But young Arcadia knew many tricks to confound the monsters. Over time she learned enough of their secrets to return to Earth. Taking her adoptive mother's name, she now plays by her own rules. But she has never cried since that tragic night.
