All that Alicia Ledee ever wanted was a bit of fun. For most of her life, that desire was filled by athletic pursuits (gymnastics, karate, and field hockey), but in her second year at Paragon University, she grew tired of games. What to do instead, though? Her answer came from a headline in the school paper: "Magical Artifact Bestows Superpowers Upon Archaeology Student".Fascinated by the idea of becoming a costumed hero, Alicia threw herself into research, looking for an Origin -- ANY Origin. She scoured arcane texts, volunteered for archaeological digs (it worked for a classmate!) and snuck into Paragon City's more "unstable" regions in search of... something. Anything. What she finally found was a friend -- an aging, semi-retired hero who spent his days working with the police detail on the edge of Perez Park. After rescuing her from the Skulls, he took her on as his apprentice, teaching her to harness the power of the magic spells that his body was now too frail to utilize.
