Chubby chemistry nerd and D&D player, Chris Mann, was trying to create a weight-loss formula. He succeeded ? wildly, but the potion needed a catalyst ? pure gold. Mann?s compound is inert, when drunk, but placing an appropriate amount of gold on the tongue dissolves the gold and catalyzes the formula.The result releases enormous energy, consuming body-fats and transforming the user into an enormous, muscular, gold-skinned, beast-man with claws. Various side-effects mean that, in ordinary form, Mann must bulk up on sweets, to develop a store of energy to fuel the transformation. Alternatively, once transformed, the hero called Aurumvorax may consume a portion of gold, re-energizing the transformation. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, the formula does not seem to work for anyone but Mann. Further research is pending.
