Character Bio

She has been an Olympic medalist, a surgeon, and a spy in her life. But
most of what defines Yelena is loss. She was orphaned as a child, only many
years later did she learn that her parents were "purged" by their own government. She slowly learned to fear and distrust that same government, even as she worked for it.

Eventually she defected, but many of the people who convinced her to make that hard choice were killed partly as a consequence. She became a crime-fighter with one of the agents who convinced her to come to America, but he died at her side fighting the gangs of Paragon City.

She lost her private life; all hope of a normal life was taken from her when the Council arranged a spectacular revalation of her identity on television. Many heroes she knew died in the Rikti war. Still she fights on, determined to honor the memories of all she has lost by doing what she knows is right.
