Character Bio

The quiet, unsettling woman known as Thanatoa is the constant companion - some say paramour - of the Rogue Isles' premier smuggler and information broker, the man known as "Bootleg" Jack. Thanatoa speaks only rarely, and only to Jack. According to thugs in Jack's employ, her voice is soft and light, like a child's, with an eerie, faraway quality.

Thanatoa shields the minds of Jack and his thugs from the intrusions of psychic probes, be they intrepid heroes or Rogue Isles spies, an ability that Mu mystics cannot account for. Perhaps even more disturbing, witnesses report that Thanatoa is engaged in a constant whispered conversation with beings only she can see and hear.

Although Thanatoa is nominally content to wander Bootleg Jack's stronghold and run the occasional errand on his behalf, the few survivors of raids on his operation report that Thanatoa seemed to be everywhere at once, hurling blazing fire from her fingertips in her rage.
