Elizabeth Ross lost everything on the day the Rikti came. Her home, her livelihood, every living relative... but in the aftermath, she discovered something that would change the course of her life forever. Hidden among her grandmother's effects, she discovered an American flag woven from a strange material she could not identify, a flag that seemed to shine even in the dim attic light. When she took it out into the sunlight, it exploded into furious color and light, overwhelming her senses.

When Betsy cleared her eyes, she found herself connected to the people around her, sensing their needs and their desires, able to influence them with practice and concentration. What's more, she discovered a connection to the land itself, to the earth, to the water and to the sky., though only when she stands on American soil. Wielding these potent new abilities, Betsy has set out to build a new life for herself in Paragon City.
