The unfortunately named Michael Michaels was once a hopeless social failure, his frail build and lack of self-assurance virtually assuring his status as an recluse despite his undeniable genius. Holding several doctorates in specialized fields such as Robotics, Medicine and Biotechnology, Michaels lived in a world of his conceptions and rarely put forth more effort in the mundane world than was required to pay his bills and be left in peace.

All of that changed on one cold December evening when Michaels made a remarkable breakthrough, a circuit which could mimic and amplify the natural processes of the human brain! Using the last of his savings and every ounce of his expertise, Michaels created a suit based upon this discovery, allowing him to assert his will over his foes - firing pain receptors in their minds, altering their perceptions and emotions.

Ironically, the physical training demanded by the heavy suit has itself transformed Michaels - few would recognize him for the wiry pariah he once was.
