The Biosynchronous Energy Projection Gauntlets were the prize of the Paragon City Institute of Technology's DARPA research program. Capable of amplifying innate bioelectric energy into a devastating blast of raw power, the BEP Gauntlets were poised to give America a new edge on the battlefield, and PCIT a ridiculously large government grant. But when the only functional prototype pair fused to the hands of lab assistant Jeremy Jacobs in a freak accident, the BEP program was cancelled. Given new purpose by the accident, Jeremy Jacobs now protects Paragon City as Synchro.
