Character Bio

She has been an Olympic medalist, a surgeon, and a spy in her life. But most of what defines Yelena is loss. She was orphaned as a child, only many years later did she learn that her parents were "purged" by their own government. She slowly learned to fear and distrust that same government, even as she worked for it. Eventually she defected, but many of the people who convinced her to make that hard choice were killed partly as a consequence. She became a crime-fighter with one of them, but he died fighting the gangs. Other heroes she knew died in the Rikti war. Still she fights on, determined to honor the memories of those she has lost by doing what she knows is right.
