For some, the Iron Curtain never fell.

Karl Svorsky was born on 12 Jul 1963, and at an early age he exhibited an incredible aptitude for engineering and hardware repair. He left his parents' farming commune in 1980 to study in Moscow, where his mechanical and electrical skills grew exponentially.

His ability reached a certain state official in 1982, who recognized Karl's skills and ability, and felt it could be shaped in service to the People of the Union - and more importantly, the Soviet State.

Karl was whisked away in the middle of the night late in 1982, where he was brought to an undocumented black project facility, which specialized in mechanized infantry. Karl, heady with dedication to the C.C.C.P. and his own inflating sense of self worth, took the lead on every design that came off his desk in five years, slowly building a base for unmanned warfare the likes of which had not been seen since Requiem's rise in WWII.

Glasnost, however, did not account for Karl's ambitions.
