After discovering that Crey was doing illegal research into Rikti technology Sidney Adams attempted to report them to the authorities. When he started his car to go to the meeting with the government agents, it exploded, almost killing him. He turned his genius and technology to rebuilding his body, to protect his city and to take down Crey, once and for all.
