Sometimes accidents happen for a reason. Like, when you're (stupidly) practicing your tai-chi techniques while taking a break from your graduate studies in the chem lab at school. Make one wrong movement, and suddenly you've dislodged some hosing and are being bathed in polonium. That's exactly what happened to Kerri while she was studying at Trinity College in Dublin, giving her an amazingly fast metablism that allows wounds to heal almost as quickly as she gets them. She used that quick healing to her advantage when practicing with the katana (seriously -- quite an advantage to have your Japanese instructor be able to run you through to make a point). Once she mastered the arts of stealth and the blade, she headed to Paragon City to help clean the place up. After she got the proper visas, of course.
