When New Camelot Enterprises started on the path to controlling the Fracas Effect, no one really knew how to best manipulate this new source of energy. Emitted by the complex interactions between dimensions, the Fracas Effect was aimed at solving the world's energy crisis. But this was before the Rikti War, and the hostile takeover of NCE by Crey Industries. Fracas Effect research fell into the endless R&D cycle Crey reserves for technology which could endanger its expansion and profits. An endless supply of cheap energy was not good for business, they said. Several of the implements, suits and even complete armors escaped Crey's vigilance, either during the takeover of NCE or afterwards. A promising young NCE intern managed to discreetly make it out with several items which he then patched together to forge himself a new identity with which to oppose those who would oppress others.
