You never heard my mom ask me to shut up, or keep quiet… I already knew I had to do that. Not out of a desire to be well-mannered, but out of necessity. If I scream, things break. People break. Mind you, there aren’t too many people I’d want to talk to in the first place. Seems that what most people find fascinating, I dislike. Like reality shows. Or Justin Timberlake. Pathetic. Gimme The Cure any day. Now *that’s* real. As real as the blackness I can manipulate. That’s one of the reasons I side with heroes. It’s a barrier keeping me from slipping into my dark half, my heritage. Some kids rebel against their parents by freaking out. That’s the second reason. I pulled away from my parents by getting straight, by doing good, by fighting evil instead of promoting it – both in the city I call home, and within myself.darn
