I don't remember how bad the pain was before my parents sought the help of Crey Industries for the experimental brain surgery. But I do wonder sometimes if I would have chosen this life now that I have tasted it. Perhaps I would have chosen differently.The details from "before" are sketchy. I recall kind Dr. Ham's Face, but I'm not even sure that I remember his name correctly... One thing I vividly remember was my sweet sixteen party outside on a beautiful day. The presents, the ice cream, the guests. The sound of ripping earth and shards of rock and dirt surrounding them when I clapped my hands in joy.I know I'm different. The mirror reminds me everyday. And I don't know why I can make the ground obey my thoughts. Some days I feel heroic just getting up in the morning. And at other times, when I use my difference to help others, I'm not so sure I would have chosen a different path, despite the cost.
