The Rikti invasion changed Rachel Wood?s perspective. A blast hit her molecular botany lab, leaving her in a coma dreaming of the rain forest trees in the Philippines where colleted samples for her research. The the Rikti invasion, the middle eastern war her brother died in, and the defense of the rainforest blurred in her visions until it was it was the ghost of her long dead brother that lead her back to consciousness. The dream, however, never completely faded. From then on she remained tangled in trees and followed by phantoms. The experience broadened Rachel?s sense of responsibility. Tangol, meaning defender in Tagalong, was her name in the Philippines for her work in the rain forest defending the trees; Tangol is her name now in Paragon city for her work saving all that are threatened.
