Character Bio

From the slums of Kings Row, Nicole Toussaint was a Cinderella who rose to marry her superhero Prince Charming, Eric Moore, to have a beautiful son and to become the beloved defender Empathy.  Until the Rikti War, she had it all. 

In one terrible afternoon, everything was gone.

Only the intercession of the reformed Nictus Apihelion saved her. For several years, Nicole worked to recover from the losses of the war, rebuilding her family and her career as well as trying to become accustomed to the new partnership.

But the joining soured. Apihelion distrusted Nicole's Peacebringer-bonded husband and wanted Nicole with someone else. Nicole, though, refused to consider anyone else but Eric and felt the Warshade powers a corruption of what she'd once wielded.

After a final clash of wills, a new host was found for Api, and the two separated. Nicole's powers were darker, stronger, due to the exposure to Nictus energy, but she mastered them to become...Empathy Anew.
