Joseph McConnell was a promising fighter pilot who was badly injured in a training accident. With limited function of his left hand, he was consigned to riding out the rest of his Navy career sitting at a desk. Desperate to make something of himself, Joseph signed on with an experimental DoD program which bonded his spirit with that of a Kheldian, the former Nictus named Star's Whisper.
