Character Bio

Cynthia Grey used to be Grey Mind, a telepath, telekinetic and small-time criminal. When the Rikti War began, Cindy joined the struggle in Paragon City. After all, the end of the world wouldn't be very profitable.

In the last days of the war Cindy was near the impact of a Rikti ship brought down by heroes. The engines exploded, flooding the area with powerful radiation and killing nearby heroes and soldiers. Seeing the spreading blast and fearing more deaths would cost earth the battle, Cindy made a desperate choice. She tried using her ability to absorb psychic energy on the radiation, redirecting it into the sky as a psychic wail.

Cindy woke after the war. While she had redirected most of the energy, only metahuman medicine had saved her life. Her powers had changed; her mental powers were more limited, but she could now wield radiation as well. Changed by her near-death and the compassion of those who saved her, Cindy chose to start over as a hero, and is now relearning her powers, old and new.
