Character Bio

The first solar probe didn't return to Earth alone.  Along with samples, the collector caught one of the group-minded plasma entities which inhabit the star and brought it back to Earth. 

The collective consciousness wondered what had happened, but eventually, interest faded.  Only one small spark remained curious, but it had always been odd.

When the second probe came, this part hitched a ride to Earth.  Fortunately, SERAPH's past experience with the first entity helped its scientists acclimate the new entity, Sunriven, to life among humans,  apart from the groupmind.

Living apart from the collective was more difficult than Sunriven expected, but as her individuality has grown, any interest in returning home has lessened. Perhaps one day she'll hitch a ride on another probe and go home. Until then, she's enjoying the human experience, both good and bad.
