    I?m one of the lucky ones.  A high school student when the Rikti War began, I dropped out to become a hero. I thought I'd be a teen sensation ice blaster, The Girl Who Broke the Rikti.

Instead, the Rikti broke me.

I was one of two fledgling heroes rescued when the Rikti bombarded the SOLUS base in late 2002. Critically injured and with my powers burned out, I was sidelined for the rest of the War. By the time I was physically recovered, there was nothing to come back to. Everyone else in the group was believed to be dead.

I did what my mentor asked me to do before she died. I went back to high school, then on to university in magical studies. Though I?ll never have the offensive power I once had, I've rechanneled what was left into defensive spells.  Now, I'm back.

The next time the Rikti come, *I'm* breaking *them*.
