Character Bio

Born to be a superstar, Lana Vaine was gifted with a powerful singing voice, an ear for rhythm and dance, as well as great beauty. Her genetic inheritance did not end there - like both her parents, Lana is a mutant. Her powers manifested at puberty, while on stage during a small local concert with her band at the time, The Kitty Fantasicos.

Lana, caught up in the moment, began to bend the sound waves both of her band and of her own voice, amplifying and intensifying the sounds until they could be heard for blocks in every direction. After her band was disbanded and her songs dismissed, Lana found that she could do other things - she could shape shields, call forth bursts of light or booms of sound, and more importantly, blow stuff up.

As the Bubblegum Banshee, Lana is known for fabulous pyrotechnics at each and every performance, though only a few realize they are provided entirely by the starlet herself. Lana's pink headphones play pop music incessantly, so she is never without sound to work with.
