Character Bio

Dr. Franklin Herbert Stein was a noted 19th century chemist and surgeon in England.  He was obsessed with finding the keys to  immortality, and gathered like-minded scientists to uncover the shrouded mysteries of life and death.  Stricken with a terminal illness, Stein persuaded his collegues to use himself for their misguided experiments.  Before he succumbed to death, Dr. Stein's brain was removed and placed in a jar of chemicals and nutrients to protect it from decay.  

When one of the scientists was accidently killed, the other associates quickly rescued his body and brought it to a private laboratory; working fast, they mounted and wired Stein's brain jar onto the new body.  Resuscitating the creation with massive electricity gave Stein mental abilities undreamt of in his former life.  Stein now uses these abilities to protect the innocent.
