Clarissa was only five years old when she was abducted by Grendel, used as a pawn in his game with the Batman. Clarissa had only vague recollections of that night, and her parents refused to acknowledge the event. So when Grendel was finally vanquished, Clarissa was fascinated by the life of Hunter Rose.Clarissa studied everything she could find about Hunter, and eventually befriended Stacy Palumbo, Hunter's adoptive daughter. The two shared so much in common, they became tight confidants, and Stacy let Clarissa read Hunter's personal diaries.Clarissa moved to Paragon City for college, but her research into Hunter Rose changed her outlook. She adopted his nom de plume, and once again the world is under the shadows of the Spirit of Aggression.
