Character Bio

Akane Kitsume grew up in what she thought was a normal Japanese family. Her father was a salary man and her mother was a part-time office lady while Akane and her two brothers attended school. However, the summer before she began high school, while staying at her grandparents' temple, she learned the truth as to how the family got its surname.

Centuries past, when demons and spirits still roamed Japan, Akane's ancestor was an exorcist of some notability who was tasked with slaying a demon fox that had been preying on young women. He was successful in the end, but the fox cursed the monk that one of his bloodline must always bear the creature's mystic eye, else the entire family would simply drop dead and be forgotten from all of history.

Akane is the new bearer of the demon fox eye. The demon has lost most of its resentment over the years, and now chooses to aid the Kitsume family in preserving balance between worlds with its awesome spiritual power in exchange for being allowed to leave the shrine.
