Character Bio

While working at Redd Labs Al Brown developed a serum that changed him into the hulking tanker, Redd Sledgehammer. He ended his association with Redd Labs when he discovered that Professor Randall Redd was using DNA samples taken during the development of the serum to attempt to create a clone of him. Since the serum was keyed to Al's DNA, cloning him was the only way the Professor could see the project through to the conculsion he always had planned for it, creating an army of Redd Sledgehammers. In his last adventure as Redd Sledgehammer, Al recovered all samples of his DNA from Redd Labs and prevented the creation of all but a single clone. Without access to Redd Labs and his serum Al quickly lost much of his body mass but retained his muscle development and combat skills. Taking the name "Sledgehammer Brown" Al effectively went back to the start of his career, learning to be a hero all over again.
