Character Bio

Some are born knowing the darkness, and choosing it. John Bligh was such a one. From the beginning, he sought power. In his quest, he turned to dark magicks. Shadowed rites brought him power and vitality, but he knew Death could steal it away.

He stumbled across a tome left in the aftermath of a battle between the Circle and the Pantheon that seemed to hold his answer. Life comes from life. To secure life everlasting required descent into the viler rites than any he had performed...and it required the life of a child, innocent and strong.

In the wake of the Rikti invasion, he discovered an orphaned girl in the rubble, sick from some alien poison. He took her in and nursed her back to health in preparation for the ritual.

Her gratitude and artless affection undid him. He found he could not bear to perform the rite. Revolted by his former actions, he began fighting the good fight, striving to redeem himself and make the city safe for his adopted daughter. And he took a new name...Redemption Jack.
