Character Bio

Son of the Solar Sorcerer and Dusk Damsel, two Midnighters of considerable skill, Drake Ambrose seemed destined from birth to wield arcane power. Destiny, however, has an odd sense of humor: Drake is utterly lacking in magical ability. He can use arcane devices created by others, after a fashion, but cannot work magic himself.

His parents never seemed to hold his lack of arcane talent against him, but he always feared that he was a bitter disappointment to them, a fear that has hardened into a certainty since they fell in battle against the Rikti. Whether out of loss or anger, even he cannot say, but he swore to prove that he was as worthy as any Midnighter--that training, knowledge, and determination are a  match for any magic.

Recently, he achieved that goal. With physical training, weapons expertise, and technological tricks, he won entry into the ranks of the Midnighters.
