"I'm a software engineer, mostly, not hardware. I've got a few pieces I've scrounged when I helped clean up after hero/villain fights. The rocket boots work, most of the time."

The FBSA official gave the would-be hero a dubious look. "If you don't have any powers or battle tech, what are you planning to fight with?"
"Well, I'm pretty good with knives."
"Oh," said the bureaucrat, back on more familiar ground. "One of the martial arts types. Where did you train? Some monastery in Tibet? Or Okinawa? Okinawa has been big lately."
"Um...in a converted warehouse in King's Row, actually."

"You're just a regular guy with a couple of ordinary knives, and you're going to go take on supervillains?"
"That's about the size of it, yes."
"You're nuts."
"Isn't that the only real requirement for a hero?"
