Character Bio

Formerly a physics student who delved too deeply into the mysteries of string theory while drunk and trying to impress his girlfriend, Donaldo Rojas' body was converted into superheavy, metastable particles. However, the field unifying the particles was NOT stable, and though its life force appears to be indestructible, Donaldo's physical body dissipated. Some time later, Richard Johnson of Future Dynamics, Inc. (aka the Steel Rook) detected the bodiless life energy with the incredible sensors of Future Dynamics' labs. Seeking to give the erratic energy coherent form to better study it, Johnson naturally thought of the merging abilities of Kheldians. He contacted SERAPH and secured a volunteer in the form of an imprisoned Nictus, which cooperated with Johnson's research in exchange for its release. Johnson was able to localize the field, and the Nictus merged with it and gave it form. El Crypto, a creature of limited consciousness and unknown potential, is the result of that experiment.
