Built by an unknown society to withstand changes to the space-time continuum, his identity and those of his creators were erased from existence by those self-same changes. Thoigh he knows he is supposed to repair damage to the timestream, he has no idea what that damage may manifest as, or if his own existence in the past has irrevocably canceled all chance for his future world to come to pass.
