I am but a humble crime fighter. The arcane sources of my power are benign, and should present you with no reason for alarm. No, the shadows that burn at my call are but a means of executing justice, and give me no pleasure. When I pry at the dark thoughts of my foes, and drain the essence of their souls, it has no effect but to sustain my efforts in keeping peace...

Peace. Ah, what is there to it? Life is a struggle, glorious in its strife. I have permission to make war on those before me, do not become one of them. My power grows...I am so pleased I am allowed to train in the streets of your city, to test my mettle against the strong and weak whom I encounter. 'Tis all but means to an end.
