Character Bio

Gabriel Oakes was once a reseacher, working with SERAPH to assess the environmental damage in the zone now called Crey's Folly.

During an excursion to Crey's Folly, Oakes was collecting plant samples growing along a radioactive watercourse when the Heroes who were to provide for the scientists' saftey wandered off to investigate a sighting of a giant rock monster.  It was then that swarms of mutant bees attacked Oakes.  Panicked and hurt, he fell down the bank into the noxious weeds.

It was hours before Oakes was found by his colleagues, and by then the toxic water and plants (and bees) had already altered his DNA.  The scientists were able to save his life, but not reverse the genetic damage that had been done.

When he finally awoke in his new monstrous form, Oakes was enraged.  He cursed his doctors, his colleagues and swore dire vengeance on the Heroes  who had left him to die.
