Character Bio

Maria Gaetana Agnesi was a brilliant linguist, philosopher, and mathematician in the late eighteenth century. She is best known for a particular curve investigated in her Instituzioni Analitiche called the versed sine curve, or versiera. The name of the curve was confused with the Italian word avversiera, meaning "wife of the devil" or "witch." The curve thus became known as the "Witch of Agnesi." If only they had known that Maria was actually a witch herself, and through one of her most powerful spells has now travelled the vast gulf of time and space to 21st century Paragon City to fight Evil with science, magic, and her pure genius.
