Character Bio

Lt. Cassidy Freeman hadn't planned on getting pregnant, but she'd always wanted a child.

Years of military service had denied her that chance: being the postergirl for badass is a time consuming postition. Running commando squads against the Devouring Earth and the Resistance, she gained the respect of military and civilians alike.

Working under her CO for years, an escalation in their relationship was only natural. Being a married man with political ambition, however, made her pregnancy a problem. So he made 'arrangements', and during a raid against the Devouring Earth she was betrayed and left for dead.

A week later she arrived in Praetoria injured, but alive. After a stay in hospital, during which she lost her child, she received the highest honors for her efforts. For their efforts, the men who betrayed her met horrible ends.

Until she came to the truth. Her CO was beyond reach, a powerful enemy, and so she took the only strategy left: retreat.
