Flight has fascinated modern society as far back as history can remember. However, one small sect of Renaissance thinkers were able to use means scientific and magical to take those natural secrets for themselves, and their research brought forth the first winged humans into the world.
These revolutionaries retreated into the depths of cavernous cloisters under Europe with their creations, tending to them as they grew and prospered. Even after their progenitors' deaths, winged humans kept silent and invisible watch throughout the course of the Earth's history, ever studying the changes and advancements of the world.
