When I came into my mutation, it was not a good time for me. A terrible time for me to be honest. I hurt those I cared for and because I listened to someone I should not have, I was driven off by everyone else. I lived as a villan for several years before something happened that changed me.
A child. A mere slip of a girl standing before her parents begging me not to harm them. Perhapes it was the look of defiance despite the fear that stopped me.... or maybe it was some long dormant maternal instinct. Whatever it was caused me not to unleash my flames. The defiance in that girl's eyes.... it just.... eased my hatred towards humans.... and I have no idea why.
I got that girl and her family into Paragon City and afterwhich I felt a sense of..... something..... at what I did, something other than the hatred I have lived with. The girl is a hero herself now and I made a promise to that girl's parents to watch over their daughter; and I will.... if only to eventually figure out why I helped that girl.
