Character Bio

Gabriel Schechter is a living essence battery, born with the ability to constantly and subconsciously draw ambient life energy into himself. His inborn talent is subtle; most living things produce more vital force than they actually need, and it generally wouldn't hurt anybody other than the weak or infirm. (But around such people Gabriel must be very careful indeed.)

Eventually, he learned to control or "switch off" his life-draining power, and to channel his surplus lifeforce into others. He can even forcibly rip large amounts of life from others, though he is reluctant to do so.

Gabriel has always been uncomfortable with his powers... he feels that he is, at the root, something of a parasite. Now, under the name "Vitalix," he tries to use his life-manipulation abilities for the greater good.
